On the afternoon of June 27, four caring volunteers from CIC Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. – Sister Huanhuan , Sister Jiaojiao, Sister Little Crab, and Sister Lili – visited the activity room of the Shanghai Youdao Public Welfare Service Center at the Wuju Activity Center on Fengpu Street, and gave a fun-filled handicraft class for 15 public welfare children in the community. They held a picture frame painting class for the kids – and the theme was birds!
Skilled preparations, patiently awaiting the beautiful blooms
In the lead-up to the event, the four volunteers made meticulous preparations, carefully organizing various craft materials such as photo frames, colored paper, feathers, decorative stickers, and glue. They also repeatedly reviewed the teaching process and optimized the guidance details, all in order to bring the children a comfortable, smooth, and fun craft experience.
Taking into account the ages of the children, the volunteers abandoned complicated production steps and designed the course in a simple, easy-to-understand and fun way. This preserved the freedom of handicraft creation, while guiding the children to concentrate and create boldly, so that every child could easily get started and enjoy the process.
Create fun with your fingertips and see the beauty of birds in flight
The atmosphere at the event was warm and relaxed, with a lively and enthusiastic feel. At the beginning of the course, the volunteer sisters gently introduced the children to the graceful forms and unique beauty of various birds, guiding them to observe the wings and postures of birds, appreciate the loveliness and beauty of nature, and inspire their creative ideas.

Then, the bird-themed picture frame art activity officially began. After the materials were distributed, the children focused intently and turned into little artists. Under the patient guidance of Huanhuan, Jiaojiao, Little Crab, and Lili, they all carefully cut colored paper, meticulously pasted decorations, and cleverly matched colors, step-by-step outlining and decorating their own bird picture frames.
When children encountered minor difficulties during the hands-on activities, the volunteers provided attentive support throughout, offering patient one-on-one answers and meticulous step-by-step assistance, gently encouraging them to imagine boldly and express themselves freely. There were no cookie-cutter templates, only unique creativity.

Capturing beautiful moments, filled with childlike innocence and tenderness
After the children’s careful creation, a series of lively and adorable bird-themed handmade picture frames, each with its own unique style, were completed. Within the exquisite frames, the birds are lifelike and full of childlike charm; each piece embodies the child’s boundless imagination and holds within it a pure and beautiful childlike heart.
The children proudly held up their own artworks, their faces beaming with bright smiles, eager to share their creative ideas with the volunteer sisters and their friends.

With love as our torch, we warm each other along the way
This charity craft activity not only allowed children to enjoy themselves and improve their skills through fun creation, enriching their after-school life, but also conveyed kindness and warmth through heartwarming companionship.
For the four volunteer sisters from CIC who made dedicated contributions, the volunteering was silent, but the love was tangible. In the future, we look forward to more acts of kindness gathering here, deeply engaging in community service, accompanying children as they grow freely, using small acts of kindness to ignite more children’s dreams, and letting the warmth continue to spread in the community.
